We are experiencing a time of rapid personal and social change. We are beginning to probe more deeply the choices before us to help us to create more satisfying, more meaningful, less tense, less hurtful, healthier and more enjoyable options for our daily lives and our planet. We have been aware of something basically wrong with our lives but have found it difficult to do much about it since we could not name or clearly visualize another way of being. History as it was taught to us did not indicate that there was another way. We are now learning to change this basic assumption. These assumptions became embedded in our psyches and our culture. We are now all consciously choosing to change our perception, shift our crystal, find another way of living, loving, and creating a world that is both safe and exciting. Healing ourselves is the pre-requisite for any real change. Healthy alternatives exist and we are now beginning to embrace them. We are shifting from a Dominator/Control paradigm to a Partnership/Co-Creator paradigm and way of life. We are in uncharted territory. It is a new and ancient path. It is a path of exploration and adventure. It is a joint challenge and adventure for us all. We have all experienced the pain, fear, and tension that come from living lives based on physical or psychological control. We have seen and experienced wife beating, child beating, explotiation and rape of other humans and of nature itself. When we release domination and submission, what do we replace it with? (Partnership and Co-Creation) When we release victimhood what do we replace it with? (Empowerment) Mutual respect and empowerment are the keys for this new model. Living in harmony with ourselves, our bodies, minds, and spirits and with nature will helps us build the foundation for a healthy partnership. Collaborative leadership inspires and elicits creativity and trust. I invite you to visualize a partnership world with me. What do you think our lives would be like if there were equal partnership between women and men? How would it affect our self image as women and men? How would it affect our family relations? Would international relations differ? Would race relations differ? Would our religious institutions change? How would it affect our education? Would the corporate sector and the workplace be altered? How would it affect social priorities? Would there be changes in entertainment, art and humor? What kinds of things would be considered funny? What would be most highly valued and rewarded? Am I patient enough to wait until its time for my voice to be heard? |
