Tithing will change your life. Tithing means giving back to God one tenth of everything you receive. To tithe is to return 10 percent of all you receive to the person, place or institution where you have received your spiritual food. Spiritual food is that which inspires us, teaches us, reminds us of the Truth and causes us to remember who we really are. The purpose of tithing is to acknowledge that God is the Source of your supply and that we are aware and grateful for the good in our lives. If we tithe, we prove God in our lives and the windows of heaven open up for us. Tithing is a beginning discipline in giving and receiving. It increases our faith and pushes us through our conscious fears. Tithing on your gross income prospers you a lot, tithing on your net income prospers you a little. Tithing on what you want to make will prosper you even more. If your partner or spouse doesn't believe in tithing, you are still responsilbe for obeying the spiritual laws as you understand them. Tithe anyway. When do I tithe? Weekly is easy for most people. What do I tithe on? All money that you receive. Salary, bonuses, interest earned, monetary gifts, dividends, proceeds from the sale of a house, money we win, inherit or find on the street. Everything. All financial income. No matter what channel it came from, its origin is God. You have no say in how the tithe may be used. You must tithe without attachment. Overcom e fears of tithing by tithing in spite of the fear. Listen to tapes, CDs, and read books about tithing. Pray, study and believe. Is it ok to tithe 1 percent or 5 percent? Since the word tithe means 10 persent, anything less is not a tithe and does not fulfill the law. How can I tithe when my bills aren't payed? The truth is unless you tithe you probably will never be able to pay your bills. Can I be excused from tithing? I'm retired and on a fixed income? In God's mind there is no such thing as a fixed income, and no one is excused from obeying Spiritual Law. Gifts of money to friends and family members and loved ones are not tithes, they are gifts. Simply having money alone is not true prosperity. Prosperity includes: A vitally alive physical body to provide a comfortable worldly home for the spiritual beings that you are. Relationships that are satisfying, nurturing, honest and work all the time. Work that we love so much that its not work, its play. All the money we can spend.
