So he told them this parable: "Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?" When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost." This parable is about the return of the lost sheep. The lost sheep is likened to a beneficial mutation or one who has gone out on his or her own and found new ways of doing things that are better than the original ways. These beneficial mutations are able to adapt and survive in times of change. These beneficial mutations are people who come along and think up original ideas, paint innovative paintings, develop techniques or ideas that work better than anything ever conceived of before. Beneficial mutations think radically different from anything that has been done before. Einstein, Newton, Franklin, Edison, Beethoven, Shakespeare, da Vinci, the Wright Brothers, Mozart, John Lennon, Debussy and Jesus are all Beneficial mutations. Their return to home is celebrated because they will bring to the group ideas that will enhance and change the lives of those around them. 1) Are you a sheep blindly following everyone else? Are you allowing yourself to find new and better ways of living? 2) Take a look at your ideas that you may have discarded because you judged them as strange, too way out or outlandish. Allow yourself to think and act outside the box. 3) Spirit will support you when you feel lost and help you to create new and beneficial ideas, new worlds, and new realities with power and effectiveness. Play some Mozart, Debussy or John Lennon music and see what new ideas you come up with! |
