Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, "Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin." In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Sin means to miss the mark or someone who has not achieved their true potential. Repentance means to think differently afterwards or to reconsider. These new understandings take the charge off of these words and give us a whole new perspective on what Jesus was trying to say. The lost coin represents a person's misplaced, forgotten or mismanaged potential. It's symbolic of your life force, your talents, or your abilites that have been neglected or forgotten. The coin represents the consciousness that underlies the life force and the talents you are considering. So think about your talents, your abilities and your strengths. Sweep your house from top to bottom. Don't neglect anything or take it for granted. Don't leave anything out. If you are experiencing lack, incompleteness, or undesirable situations this will help you to actualize all the vast spiritual energy that you posess. Sharing how you feel with others regarding your potential that you have become aware of neglecting will help you to manifest that full potential. Celebrate your recovery. This helps you to stay in a state of more conscious stewardship. Celebrate finding your lost coin and the potential in you it represents. |
