Wisdom is the ability to learn from our choices and see a more benevolent path for ourselves and others. We can then make choices according to our new understanding.

Wisdom is the opposite of arrogance that claims it knows all there is to know and is afraid to learn differently. Wisdom invites in understanding, new ways of accomplishing things, and compassion for the many choices it took to get here.

What was wisdom in a past incarnation could be foolish now and we have to be ever open and aware of how best to apply our wisdom in each situation.

Wisdom is gained by listening to our soul's guidance and taking action appropriately. Each time we do this our soul bond is strengthened as well as our faith and trust in our guidance and in our ability to hear and follow our soul's guidance.

Wisdom is also gained through experience, lifetime after lifetime, and develops as we do gradually bringing all the petals of our lotus flower into alignment. Many older souls enjoy learning for this reason and feel that there is always more to learn and explore.

Reading hundreds of books, having a Master's Degree or a PhD doesn't necessarily give a person wisdom. Taking every class doesn't make you a Master. Wisdom blends knowledge and experience together. All true wisdom comes from the heart, not the head. It's how you apply what you have learned in your everyday life that matters most.

People who are specialists and have many degrees ususaly lack the wisdom needed for ordinary life. They don't know how to listen to their bodies, be courteous to others and manage other life challenges with ease. They push themselves, overworking, not allowing the body the rest and rejuvenation it needs and wonder why they are ill or tired all the time.

Learning to create a balance in your life requires great wisdom and surrender. Knowing that your wisdom is here in each moment to help you make good choices for yourself, the Earth and others. This will help you to thrive as an healthy individual connected to the whole.

The first step in the acquisition of wisdom is silence, the second listening, the third memory, the fourth practice and the fifth teaching others.
